Metabolic bone diseases

Metabolic bone diseases: Osteoporosis is a common metabolic bone disorder. It results in weaker bones so they break more easily. Anyone can develop osteoporosis as they get older but some people have a higher risk. It is easily diagnosed with the use of a DEXA scan and there a number of treatments available. Other metabolic bone diseases include osteomalacia (due to vitamin D deficiency) and Paget's disease.
